Feature Release Round-up

Deluxe Digital London are delighted to have worked on a massive 18 feature films releasing in the UK this month.

In the first week of February 20th Century Fox bring release two completely contrasting, but equally well received projects; the first, ‘Chronicle’, is a sci-fi thriller where 3 high school students stumble across a source of telekinesis, gaining super powers in the process and the second, the critically acclaimed “Martha Marcy May Marlene” which won Sean Durkin the Directing award at Sundance and for which Elizabeth Olsen has been receiving glowing reviews for her stand-out performance as a young woman who has recently escaped an abusive cult.

That same week also sees the release of several comedy dramas; Sony Pictures ‘Jack and Jill’ starring Adam Sandler and Paramount’s ‘Young Adult’ starring Charlize Theron, whilst Warner Bros deliver family action adventure ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ and Entertainment One release crime thriller ‘Man on a ledge’.

The following week on Thursday 9th February, 20th Century Fox re-release ‘Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menance’, in 3D – the first 3D instalment of the saga that Lucas intends to unveil at the rate of one chapter per year until 2017 whilst on the 10th Lionsgate UK bring us ‘A Dangerous Method’, directed by David Cronenberg and boasting a stella cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Vigo Mortensen and Keira Knightly. Further releases that week include Universal’s ‘Big Miracle’, Sony Pictures ‘ ‘The Vow’ and Momentum’s ‘The Woman Black’, which is based on the phenomenally successful book by Susan Hill and which features Daniel Radcliffe in his first big screen outing post Harry Potter.

On Friday 17th Warner Bros release ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ and Entertainment One bring us ‘Ghost Rider 3D: Spirit of Vengeance’ a sequel to the 2007 original and based on the Marvel Comics anti-hero ‘Ghost Rider’.

The month closes with the release of 4 films on the 24th, Warner Bros’ ‘Black Gold’, Entertainment Film Distributors ‘One for the Money’, Universal’s ‘Safe House’ and 20th Century Fox’s ‘Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ which stars Dame Judi Dench and Bill Nighy and charts the lives of a group of English pensioners who abandon their homeland in search of a romantic idyll in India.

Content mastering, servicing, distribution and delivery services, foreign titling and film record services have been provided variously by Deluxe Digital London for all of the aforementioned titles.
